wasiNk on the 3DMAX CS2 roster: “They were seriously lacking in self-confidence.”

3DMAX coach Damien “wasiNk” Dufour, in an interview on Stake Ranked Episode 3, listed the issues facing the Counter-Strike 2 roster, explained why Pierre “Ex3rcice” Bulyinja was benched, and praised Jérémie “Kursy” Gast.
On changes to the team
A lot has changed. First off, regarding the players themselves—I think they lost their self-confidence. By the end of the year, with the change in coach and IGL, things had become significantly more difficult for them, which is why they called me back. At one point, they were seriously lacking in confidence and energy. So I came back because, even when I left, I already understood exactly what the team was missing.
On the current situation within the team
Things are getting better now, in my opinion. But we still have a lot of work to do and need to ask ourselves what we can improve. Right now, we’re heading in the right direction. <...> To be honest, I think it’s going to be a long process. The team faced problems at Tier 1 events, and now we have to rebuild everything from scratch.
On the decision to bench Ex3rcice
He’s a very good player, but it seems to me that over the last four or five years he’s lost some of his motivation and energy, so he’s had a hard time focusing for a long time. So it made sense: if you want to succeed, you need a new player.
On Kursy
Kursy is a very talented player. He previously played as a sniper because he’s extremely skilled. But he also performed well as a rifler, so it made sense to bring him on as a star player.
Earlier, 3DMAX management announced that Damien “wasiNk” Dufour and Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt had joined the coaching staff of the Counter-Strike 2 roster. wasiNk had already been working with the team, and under his leadership, the squad became a regular participant in Tier 1 tournaments.
