BetBoom Team’s CEO commented on the roster changes for Dota 2

So, the first wave of roster reshuffles for our Dota team has come to an end. Here’s a brief summary of the results and my thoughts.

General. We had about 3–4 different roster configurations, and our team could have ended up with completely different players. There were a lot of rumors, some of which turned out to be true. You can figure out for yourselves which ones.

Our current roster is a bold attempt to hit the reset button, give our key players a break, and, in a sense, experiment. When else to do it, if not now? That said, we understand that everything could change after DreamLeague in December. There’s no guarantee we’ll play the entire season with this lineup.

We had an agreement with Danya even before the EWC that he would take a break after Inta. He’s not leaving our team, and we’re not putting him up for transfer. By the way, Danya will most likely be streaming the next BLAST and our matches with the new roster, so be sure to check out his channel.

Vitaly has long wanted—in a sense, it’s even been a dream of his—to play mid. Circumstances have worked out so that we can now give him that opportunity.

swedenstrong is our new midlaner. Zhora demonstrated a solid understanding of Dota during trials, communicated actively, and generally clicked with the guys. I don’t want to compare him to Vitaly—and there’s not much point in doing so anyway—but I have a feeling he can bring a lot to our team play. Let’s see how he does during this trial period.

We discussed in advance that we’d give Tole a chance to rest and spend time with his family. Either way, the team needs to have a coach at tournaments, so a new person will fill the coaching role for this period. We’re also considering the option of having two coaches, but we haven’t made a final decision on this format yet.

We decided to give it a try. It offers an alternative perspective on drafts, hero builds, and gameplay in general. I’ll say it again: if not now, when should we experiment? I’m curious to see what conclusions we’ll draw from this stretch, but I believe Sanya will help us improve our gameplay. If anything, we’ll kick him to the streamers.

As I said at the beginning, this is the first wave of shuffles. The roster is experimental, and changes are possible following the December DreamLeague. There have been a lot of Dota matches lately, and many people are already bored with it. Our team will reignite your interest in watching.
