Boxi on Team Spirit’s loss in The International 2026 playoffs: “They played better today”
Team Liquid support Samuel “Boxi” Svan spoke in an interview following their elimination from The International 2026 about the draft against Team Spirit and the second map.
On the fact that the draft resembled the one LGD Gaming used against Team Spirit
We weren’t trying to copy some old draft; we just looked at the heroes we like and picked them. In the end, we didn’t play very well and lost.
On what went wrong in the series
I think on the first map, we didn’t like how the game went—we had trouble attacking Pangolier. On the second map, I died a lot. They played well, but we also couldn’t find a good rhythm for aggressive play. I think the game could have turned out differently if we’d managed to maximize our attacks and make our Tiny big with Aghanim’s Scepter and Lycan. They played better today.
Team Liquid lost to Team Spirit in the first round of the lower bracket at The International 2026 and finished in 5th–6th place, earning $163,617. Right now, Nigma Galaxy is facing off against BetBoom Team (BoomBoys).
