OG co-founder Sebastian “Ceb” Debs addressed the Dota 2 roster before the start of BLAST SLAM VIII. His speech was posted on the club’s social media accounts.
We need to keep playing against PARIVISION, we need to keep playing against Team Yandex, and even if we lose to Yandex 14 times in a row, that’s okay. It’s no big deal, you know? I need you to come out stronger after these losses.
Because if these losses make you weaker, then you’re essentially drawing a line under it yourselves and saying, ‘I’ll never be better than I am right now.’ Because that’s where my emotions and my ego come in. So let’s set aside our emotions and egos and just go all the way to the top. That’s what I want to tell you.
There’s no need to feel bad or blame yourself for negative emotions. It’s normal for them to arise. We put too much effort into all of this; we care too much to not be affected.
But when this happens, please remember that you’re partners and teammates, and share this with each other. You have the right to screw up; you have the right to be weak. It’s absolutely normal.
Because if it happened to you today, it could happen to the guy next to you tomorrow. And when that happens, you need to be there for him and support him.
In the first match of BLAST SLAM VIII, OG lost to BetBoom Team with a score of 1–2. In the elimination match, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen’s team will face MOUZ. The match will begin on October 1 at 4:00 p.m. Moscow time.
