Davai publicly apologized to Chinese fans for the previous version of his nickname

I would like to clarify the situation regarding my former in-game nickname [Davai Lama. — Ed.] and some of my past statements.

This nickname originated as a play on words when I was 15 years old. At the time, I didn’t fully understand the historical and political context associated with it, nor did I realize what misunderstandings and offense it might cause. I acknowledge that it was inappropriate and could have led to misunderstandings or been perceived as offensive. I have given this serious thought and sincerely apologize for any offense or misunderstanding caused.

Before joining my current team, I voluntarily stopped using my former nickname and its equivalent on Davai. This was my own decision and a step toward rectifying my past immature remarks.

I respect China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and adhere to the One-China principle.

As a professional player, I deeply value and respect all fans around the world. Regardless of where they’re from, I want to interact with everyone with respect, care, and responsibility. Going forward, I will be more mindful of my words and actions, focus on competition, and demonstrate through my performance that I value your support.
