Streamer Danil “Dendi” Ishutin joked on social media platform X about his loss to the OpenAI bot in 2017. The occasion was the appearance of footage from that match in the film “Artificial,” which tells the company’s story.
Looks like this is where the AI era began 😅

At The International 2017, Ishutin played an exhibition one-on-one match against an OpenAI bot in Dota 2 and lost 0–2. Both opponents used Shadow Fiend.
Footage from this match was included in Luca Guadagnino’s film *Artificial*, which tells the story of OpenAI and the conflict surrounding Sam Altman in 2023. Russian actor Yura Borisov portrayed Ilya Sutskever, one of the company’s founders and an artificial intelligence researcher.
