Dota 2 Update from June 20: A Hint at a New Event

On the night of June 20, Valve released several updates for Dota 2, adding the “Bad Feeling” mechanic for Axe and leaving a message for players.
List of Changes
- Added strings related to Axe’s “Bad Vibes” mechanic, which was mentioned in the patch notes for 7.41d.
- Added the variable m_bHackAllPlayersLoadedForDarkCarnivalPreLaunchModifierApplication. Based on the name, it is likely responsible for applying modifiers after all players have loaded in the unannounced “Dark Carnival” event. It was subsequently renamed to m_bHackWhyAreYouGuysReadingOurVariableNames: “Why are you reading our variable names?”
- Translations for several languages, including Russian, have been updated.
The update size was 118.6 MB.
Previously, the developers introduced additional restrictions on viewing high-rated games; now, they cannot be watched via the friends list or DotaTV. These measures may be related to efforts to counter automated data collection on professional players’ matches.
