Dota 2 Update from June 27: Cosmetic Effect Optimization
Team Spirit analyst Mark “sikle” Lerman discussed the Dota 2 update, which improved cosmetic effects, on his personal Telegram channel.
A few hours ago, another update was released that addresses performance and the game engine.
Particles and effects are now cleaner, cosmetic items should also be working properly (for example, courier effects hadn’t been working for a long time), and animations and performance have been improved. Overall, you’ve probably noticed that there’s less lag.
If anyone has noticed which item’s effect was missing and has now returned, please let us know—we’d be interested to hear about it.

Earlier, Valve released a new in-game event called “The Dark Carnival,” which features expanded lore for Dota 2 heroes, 5 automaton characters, and an exclusive chest containing rare sets for Io, Primal Beast, and Dark Willow.
