Fly on RAMZES at Evil Geniuses: “He was consistently able to take control of the game.”

Virtus.pro players Tal “Fly” Aizik, Sam Kanishka “BuLba” Soseil, and Team Falcons support Andreas “Cr1t-” Frank Nielsen, in an interview at the 2026 Dota 2 Esports World Cup, reminisced about the Evil Geniuses roster, named their best former teammate, and discussed the rotation of offlaners within the organization.
On his best teammate
Cr1t-: iceiceice. I really enjoyed playing with him. He’s probably one of my all-time favorite teammates—not only because of his personal qualities, but also because, in my opinion, he’s the ideal offlaner. He could do absolutely everything. He was probably the one who gave me the most freedom in my own gameplay: he was so good at his role that I could just focus on mine without worry.
Fly: RAMZES. I enjoyed playing with him; he was a huge help. Roman was a dominant player—I mean, right in the game. He knew how to carry from the carry position. It seemed to me that we had some inconsistencies, especially with Abed and Arteezy, but he was able to take control of the game more consistently.
About Arteezy
Fly: Arthur did indeed have problems from time to time. His play was inconsistent: sometimes he’d put up great results, but that wasn’t always the case. Usually, Arteezy showed excellent laning. I don’t fully understand the reasons behind these fluctuations. Overall, I think it’s extremely important for carries to be able to take the initiative at certain moments and control the flow of the game, which was something he struggled with.
On the change of offlaners at EG
BuLba: We took our losses too personally. But on the other hand, that wasn’t all bad, because it pushed the whole team to improve. Looking back, I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have a guy who gets really angry about losses, but I feel like we made a few roster changes that were a bit irrational.
We performed well twice with iceiceice, but then we bombed at TI, and after that loss, emotions ran too high—after all, it’s the biggest tournament of the year… I think the substitution also happened because, at that time, a lot of players from Eastern Europe were hitting their stride—Team Spirit had become champions—so we wanted to bring in Nightfall; I was a big fan of that guy because he was a great playmaker.
Crit-: Picking RAMZES for the offlane was probably the biggest mistake we made, in my opinion. It was really bad not only for us but also for his career. He essentially lost a year. I think if you look at him now, it’s obvious what kind of player he could have become on a tough lane, because now he’s a confident leader who speaks English. But back then, he wasn’t like that—he was still acting like a carry, and not quite… It was just too early for that kind of experiment.
Earlier, Team Falcons offlaner Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf spoke out about the 2026 Dota 2 Esports World Cup: “The format is just crap. You win your group, take first place, play one game—and you’re out. And then you wait six days—it feels like an eternity.”
