Games of the Future 2026 Dota 2 Preview: Format, Rosters, and Schedule for Day 1
Tomorrow, July 30, the first matches of the 2026 Games of the Future Dota 2 tournament will take place. The tournament format, team rosters, and schedule for the first day of play are detailed below.
Format and Group Lineups
The event is taking place in Kazakhstan from July 31 through August 5. In the group stage, participants will be divided into four groups of four, where they will compete in a modified GSL format with best-of-three series. The top teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals of the playoffs, while the second- and third-place teams will move on to the elimination round, and the rest will be eliminated from the competition.

The final stage consists of a single-elimination bracket with a third-place match. The grand final will be a best-of-three series, while all other series will be best-of-two.
