Kerry BetBoom Team (BoomBoys) Ilya “Kiritych” Ulyanov commented on the use of profanity during an on-stage interview at The International 2026, while coach Anatoly “boolk” Ivanov discussed his approach to drafting with Earth Spirit. They discussed these topics in the team’s YouTube vlog.
On the on-stage interview
Kiritych: Yeah, *** [damn], I don’t know—I really don’t *** [understand a thing] of what the guy’s saying because it’s just echoing back. I can’t hear a single word. I need to get right up close to his ear to hear him.
On Earth Spirit
boolk: <...> We were just seeing how well we could play with this hero or as this hero—that’s all. A lot of what’s obvious—it really is obvious to everyone. All of this is discussed locally within the team, but you have to understand that on a global scale—that is, from a distance—you have to try things out. You have to play a certain hero; you have to try playing with that hero.
[Question: “That’s why we were wondering—maybe a certain counter-strategy against Earth Spirit worked at the Grand Prix, but stopped working here?”]
If absolutely everything in Dota worked the way you imagine it—or the way everyone else imagines it—where you could simply “play around” to find a counter for everything and everything would work out, then you most likely wouldn’t be seeing esports in the form it takes today.
