kpii on Aurora Gaming in Dota 2: “We’ve been on a roll with our new roster, and we’re still riding that wave.”

Aurora Gaming’s Dota 2 coach Damien “kpii” Chok spoke in an interview at the Esports World Cup 2026 about the team’s current form and explained that he isn’t doing any special preparation ahead of their matches against Team Liquid.
On the team’s form
We’ve been on a roll with the new roster, and we’re still riding that wave. My guys are just very talented—that’s the bottom line. I just give them their heroes, and they just play their game.
On the matches against Team Liquid
I try extra hard because they’re my former teammates, and you have to beat your former teammates with everything you’ve got—show them the best version of yourself. But seriously, it’s nothing special. I’d say that against every team, we’ll give it our all—we’ll give 100 percent in every match, every day. Maybe I’ll spend ten extra minutes preparing for Liquid.
About Mikoto
Mikoto has been playing really well lately. He’s my favorite right now.
[Comment: “Your new girlfriend.”]
Yeah, a new girlfriend. But I can always pick someone else next week. Maybe it’ll be Nightfall, and the week after that—kaori.
Aurora Gaming finished Group B in second place with a map record of 8–2. Tomorrow at 5:30 p.m., the team will play for a spot in the playoffs against the winner of the Rune Eaters vs. Virtus.pro match. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
