miCKe: “Winning The International is like a sweet dream.”
Team Liquid’s Michael “miCKe” Wu, in an interview at The International 2026, reflected on his championship victory and his first appearance in the tournament series.
On his first The International
With Alliance, everything was completely different because, I think, we didn’t have any expectations. We just showed up at The International 2019 and were happy to be there. And then that unfortunate thing happened when someone accidentally picked Gyrocopter. I don’t know who it was, and I’m not going to name names. That’s in the past. Those who know, know. But yeah, that was probably the most memorable moment.
On winning The International 2024
We had a team talk, and we all agreed that we wanted to give it our all, even if 33 was leaving the team. Everyone wanted to win, and we just gave it our best shot. We also beat Gaimin Gladiators twice—they were our rivals that season and had been beating us constantly. Winning TI is like a sweet dream. I don’t know.
Earlier, Team Liquid lost to Team Spirit 1–2 in the third round of the group stage at The International 2026. The main tournament of the year is taking place from August 13 to 23 in China, and the total prize pool at the time of publication is $2,975,864.
