Miposhka commented on Team Spirit’s elimination from the 2026 Dota 2 Esports World Cup

Team Spirit’s Dota 2 coach, Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, commented on the team’s elimination from the 2026 Dota 2 Esports World Cup on the team’s Telegram channel.
Hey everyone. Well, unfortunately, we lost to Team Yandex 0-2. The series didn’t quite go our way. What can I say? In my personal opinion, we had a pretty solid draft on both maps. The second one was probably a little less solid. But on the first one—I don’t know—I’m just super happy with every pick, like, mega happy.
I don’t know, our laning just wasn’t as good as it could have been. In some cases, we lacked an understanding of how best to lane or how to handle specific situations. In some cases, our opponents were simply better. They just happened to be better today: they played the map better and made decisions faster. They had a better sense of where to position themselves, how to push lanes, which heroes to use against whom, how to attack, how to handle objectives, and so on.
In many ways, we just fell short. Well, basically, the situation is roughly the same for the second match. On that note, unfortunately, we’re leaving the EWC. But we’ll keep training and keep working. And, of course, we’ll see you at The International in Shanghai. We’ll put up a good fight there.
Team Spirit finished their run at the 2026 Esports World Cup in Dota 2, placing 5th–8th. The team earned $70,000 in prize money and 200 EWC club points. The tournament’s playoffs are taking place from July 16 to 19, with teams competing for a total prize pool of $2,000,000.
