Commentator Dmitry “Mortalles” Arzhilovsky shared his predictions for the second day of the group stage of the 2026 Esports World Cup in Dota 2 on his personal Telegram channel.

EWC 2026. Day Two.

Today I’ll be commenting on the Falcons and Liquid matches. Liquid will easily sweep the series, while the Falcons will have to work a little harder. If they don’t win 2-0, they won’t take first place in the group—it’s that simple.
And BB should win their match with their eyes closed.

Easy wins are also expected from PV, Team Spirit, and Mouz. Although, okay, Rekonix does have a slim chance of winning a map.

In Group D, LGD will have the toughest match. The other two favorites should cruise through their series.
I was very disappointed with LGD’s drafts yesterday. And Whisper was playing like he had a hangover. I think we’ll see him in top form today—it’s about time.

We’re definitely skipping the XG vs. GL and Aurora vs. Nigma matches until the drafts.

Earlier, Dmitry commented on the format of the 2026 Esports World Cup for Dota 2: “There are an unusually large number of participants, but the format is also much more interesting this time around. No pointless 16-team groups—just a tough group stage.”
