PGL Wallachia Season 9 Statistics: Ember Spirit was the most picked hero; the Forces of Darkness won nearly 60% of the maps

At PGL Wallachia Season 9, the Forces of Darkness won 59.65% of the maps, compared to 40.35% for the Forces of Light. Ember Spirit was the most picked hero, and 23 heroes were neither picked nor banned throughout the entire tournament. The statistics were compiled by analyst Ilya “Leamare” Silakov-Volynsky.

A total of 114 maps were played. Players placed 4,464 vision wards, killed 291 Roshan and 368 couriers, and killed 317,152 enemy creeps and 8,515 of their own. Players also performed 442 redemptions and recorded three rampages. The average game duration was 42 minutes and 11 seconds.

The most frequently picked heroes were Dark Willow (55 picks), Hoodwink (50), and Mirana (48). The most banned heroes were Earth Spirit (79), Bounty Hunter (77), and Lone Druid (75). Ember Spirit was the most popular hero—he appeared in the draft in 98 out of 114 matches. Earth Spirit and Lone Druid tied for second place: each was either picked or banned in 95 matches.

Among heroes played in more than ten games, Earth Spirit (75% in 16 games), Brewmaster (73.33% in 15), and Rubick (72.73% in 11) had the highest win rates.

Abaddon, Ancient Apparition, Bloodseeker, Broodmother, Chen, Elder Titan, Kunkka, Leshrac, Medusa, Meepo, Ogre Magi, Omniknight, Phantom Assassin, Primal Beast, Pudge, Pugna, Riki, Skywrath Mage, Tinker, Venomancer, Visage, Wraith King, and Zeus were never picked or banned.

PGL Wallachia Season 9 took place from September 19 to 27 in Bucharest, Romania. In the grand final, Team Yandex defeated Natus Vincere 3–0. The tournament’s prize pool totaled $1 million, with $300,000 going to the winner.
