Saksa on Team Yandex’s form: “Everything was going perfectly, but then watson got sick.”

Team Yandex support player Martin “Saksa” Sazdov spoke in an interview at the Esports World Cup 2026 about decision-making within the team and shared his thoughts on the team’s atmosphere and performance.
On Decision-Making
Sometimes I make decisions myself. But more often than not, I try to give my cores the opportunity to make their own plays and follow their ideas. So, I’d say right now we’re mostly following their lead. I think experience and confidence are what make the difference here. If you believe in yourself and your vision of the game, it becomes much easier to act. I thought I’d always had this quality, but with practice comes even greater composure. On this team, I feel completely confident, so everything comes very easily.
On the atmosphere at Team Yandex
In other teams, there’s usually some tension or someone getting mad at someone else, but here, that doesn’t really happen. But maybe I just don’t notice it. Watson and Malady sometimes grumble at each other. I just don’t pay much attention to it.
On the team’s performance
Bootcamp went well; our ideas worked. Everything was going perfectly, except that watson got sick. That’s a bit of a bummer—we hope he gets better soon. To be honest, he’s been having moments lately where he dies while completely losing his position, which didn’t happen before. He used to have zero deaths, but now he has a few. I think it’s because of his illness.
As of this writing, Team Yandex is in second place in Group D of the 2026 Esports World Cup for Dota 2, trailing only 1w Team. Today, the team will face LGD Gaming at 7:30 p.m. Moscow time.
