Saksa on the second map of the BLAST Slam VII Grand Final: “It didn’t go as planned, but we handled it well”

Team Yandex support Martin “Saksa” Sazdov explained in an interview at BLAST Slam VII why one shouldn’t celebrate prematurely when just one step away from victory.
On picking Rubick
At the end of the draft, I felt like I could pick whatever I wanted. And the game looked good for Rubick, so I didn’t have to think too hard.
On mid lane
We messed up a bit in mid; we could have defended that lane better, and that was their only chance in the game. It didn’t go as planned, but we handled it well.
On the feeling of being one step away from victory
I’m keeping my emotions in check. If you start celebrating too early with a 2-0 lead, it can backfire. I’ve been in finals where we managed to come back from 0-2, so anything is possible. We need to stay focused until the very end.
BLAST Slam VII runs from May 26 to June 7, with a $1 million prize pool. If they win in Copenhagen, Team Yandex will claim their third Tier 1 title since last December.
