Tundra is an example of how well you can make money in esports, and specifically in Dota 2. Not without luck, of course, but right before the major, they signed the winners, then, thanks to the hype surrounding the tag at the time, they were able to attract suitable and talented players to the team and make solid trades, and now they’re simply selling the roster to a weaker player in the market for a massive sum—1w, who, due to their incompetence and poor decisions, have been stuck at Tier 3 for years without breaking out of it. I hope they bought the roster along with the management, otherwise I wouldn’t envy its fate. In any case, congratulations to Tundra; I hope to see such masterful moves in the future—ones that only a few are capable of—simply because there are no people in management positions within organizations who truly understand players.
Earlier, the organization 1w Team published a photo of its new Dota 2 roster wearing balaclavas; based on the players’ silhouettes, it appears to feature the entire former Tundra Esports roster that has joined the team. Tundra itself has not yet issued any comments.
