Today, the entire team received our French visas. To be honest, after this, I’ve come to believe in the omnipotence of the EWC organizers.
To give you an idea, we prepared a list of documents to submit based on the guide sent by the organizers. After that, the entire team went straight to the visa center without waiting in line, where they were already aware that esports players would be applying.
The visa center staff were shocked by our set of documents; under normal circumstances, even for a business visa—even with an invitation—the list of required documents is usually much longer. After our documents were accepted, the visa center told us that the standard processing time is 45 days.
In the end, we received our visas in just 7 days. I’ve never experienced a visa application process like this in my entire career. Kudos to the EWC organizers. We’re flying to Paris!
Earlier, the group stage draw for the 2026 Esports World Cup, which begins on July 7 in Paris, France, was announced. The total prize pool for the Dota 2 World Championship is $2,000,000.
