“Thank you, Valve”—the Russian-speaking community on the MMR reset at the “Titan” rank in Dota 2

The Russian-speaking Dota 2 community has taken to social media to discuss the Titan rank reset in the game.

Quotes are reproduced with the original spelling and punctuation from the sources

Community caster Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov noted that the reset should be seasonal:

“Okay, I get it—they just flattened the rating. No, wait, actually, that’s right—it should be a seasonal measure to keep the rating from skyrocketing to 20,000. I’m at 6,600 now, which is trash, by the way <...>”

Former esports coach Timur “Ahilles” Kulmukhambetov shared his thoughts on the changes:

Hahahahaha
THANKS, VALVE.
YOU HEARD MY WORDS + WHINING.
I’VE BEEN BEGGING FOR AN MMR RESET FOR OVER A YEAR NOW.

NOW WE’RE ALL EQUAL
—WE’RE ALL IN THE SHIT

Caster Maxim “Shachlo” Abramovskikh was happy about the return of role-based matchmaking:

In Dota, the MMR cap has been lowered. It went from 11k to 7,200, but my rank stayed the same. But now I can use role-based matchmaking and play in parties with friends. This is the best change Valve has made to Dota in the last 5 years—hurray, comrades! No more torture with Immortal draft mode

Earlier, Team Yandex offlaner Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin commented on the MMR reset in Dota 2: “The MMR reset will help new talent emerge in this wonderful game, since now they won’t have to grind their way up to 15,000–16,000.”
