The drafts at The International 2026 turned out to be the least diverse among tournaments in this series since 2015

The drafts for The International 2026 were among the least diverse in the series’ history. Team Liquid’s technical director, Ben “Noxville” Stenhuysen, shared the statistics on X.

This year’s draft balance coefficient stood at 0.356—lower figures were recorded only in 2015 (0.304) and 2013 (0.329). The heroes that appeared most frequently in drafts were Earth Spirit (over 90% of the time) and Treant Protector (over 95%). The International 2017 had the highest coefficient of variation at 0.488. Among all events, Captains Mode 4.0 (0.69) and EPICENTER XL (0.476) lead the pack.

Earlier, Noxville shared statistical highlights from the first matches of The International 2026 group stage. In particular, BetBoom Team (BoomBoys) pulled off the biggest comeback in TI tournament history, overcoming a 35,000-point deficit.
