The Esports World Cup 2026 topped the list of Dota 2 tournaments this season

The Esports World Cup 2026 for Dota 2 has become the most popular tournament in the discipline, according to data from Esports Charts.

Despite a 24% year-over-year decline in peak concurrent viewers, the event climbed to the top spot in the season’s tournament popularity rankings. Among the major upcoming events, only the 2026 Games of the Future and The International 2026 remain—the latter traditionally proves to be the most popular event of the year.

BLAST Slam VI currently holds second place with 325,000 peak viewers, followed by ESL One Birmingham 2026 with 308,000, while PGL Wallachia Season 7 (295,000) and DreamLeague Season 29 (285,000) round out the top five.

The Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026 took place from July 7 to 19; the organizers awarded $2 million and 3,550 EWC club points among twenty-four teams. This year marked the third consecutive year that the prize pool has decreased. In 2025, it was $3 million; in 2024, $5 million; and in 2023, $15 million.
