During The International 2026, Valve did not make any announcements regarding the future development of Dota 2, nor did it announce the venue for the next TI.
In previous years, the developers used The International to make announcements regarding the future of the game and the tournament. At TI 2025, Valve announced that the next tournament would take place in Shanghai, and at TI 2024, it introduced the new hero Kez.
However, during TI 2026, the developers did not present any new content for Dota 2 and did not announce the venue for The International 2027.
The prize pool for The International 2026 totaled $3,455,787, marking the highest figure in the tournament’s last three years. After the grand final concluded, Dota 2’s peak concurrent players reached 1,003,965—the highest figure since October 2022.
