Kerry Team Yandex Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov spoke in an exclusive interview with OFFSTAGE about returning to the No. 1 spot on the European leaderboard, shared his thoughts on negative comments, and discussed his goals in matchmaking.
[You said that to improve your rating, you shouldn’t dwell on mistakes.] Did I say that? Maybe I have a memory like a goldfish. Not dwelling on mistakes... I don’t know, right now I just pop into pubs to run a few games on three heroes and that’s it. I don’t play any others.
[Which ones?] Kez, Lone Druid, and Shadow Fiend.
It always cracks me up—how do these people even live on the same planet as me? There’s been a lot of nonsense out there; today I read a comment that said: “’322’ is a cheater; Team Yandex paid the bookies; Aurora Gaming and BetBoom Team got kicked out—it’s all clear.” That was funny.
Actually, I didn’t play any pub games today. I logged into Dota—I was ranked second, but then, after the tournament, they said I was first. I was like, “No way.” I was just playing pub games—not even to test heroes, but to have some fun with these three heroes.
Earlier, Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov spoke about playing Nature’s Prophet in the BLAST Slam VII final: “The first game was a warm-up on ‘Furion,’ but we won it. My TP got canceled three times there—twice I teleported to myself instead of the enemy.”
