Tournament operator BLAST has undergone a restructuring, resulting in layoffs of employees in the UK and Denmark. Company representatives informed The Esports Radar of this.
BLAST attributed the changes to preparations for further growth in 2027 and beyond. The updated structure is intended to help the company expand its international presence and host tournaments across multiple disciplines in collaboration with commercial partners. The tournament operator did not disclose the exact number of employees laid off.
Earlier, analyst and commentator Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill reported staff layoffs and delayed payments at BLAST. The company confirmed the layoffs but did not comment on the allegations regarding outstanding payments to employees and contractors.
