Content creator and former League of Legends: Wild Rift pro player Marios “Royal” Papakristopoulos has criticized the ability to gain advantages through in-game purchases in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
Royal pointed out that players receive stat bonuses for purchasing skins. In response to the argument that these bonuses do not significantly impact gameplay, he countered that gaining even the slightest statistical advantage runs counter to the idea of creating a level playing field for competitors.
At the same time, Marios cited Wild Rift as an example, where he managed to reach the top of the leaderboards on several servers without spending any money. “You can spend thousands of dollars on skins in Wild Rift, but your champion will have exactly the same stats as someone who hasn’t spent a single cent.” That said, the content creator noted that he has no objection to the emblem progression system, which rewards those who play more.
From October 16 to November 8, MLBB is hosting the “Free Random Special Skin” event—by completing tasks, players can earn a chest containing 1 of 10 special skins, taking into account their existing collection.
