BetBoom Team captain Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov spoke to OFFSTAGE in an exclusive interview at the 2026 Esports World Cup about his emotions following the tournament and shared his thoughts on what the team will be working on in the near future.
My feelings... I’m just sad. I’ll probably spend the whole day thinking about the lessons we need to learn from this tournament—what it was supposed to be like, how to get the team out of this slump, and why this happened.
It’s hard to say what to work on first. I think everyone needs to draw certain conclusions—I can’t say exactly what they are yet, because it takes time. We’ll have a team meeting soon, and we’ll discuss it, because this is the start of the season, but it didn’t go the way we wanted. We need to work—work hard—and as for what exactly we’ll focus on, we’ll discuss that later; for now, I don’t know myself, let’s put it that way.
Most likely, it will be the FISSURE tournament in China in September.
Earlier, BetBoom Team wrapped up their run at the 2026 Esports World Cup for Counter-Strike 2. In their match against Ninjas in Pyjamas, the Russian team lost 0–2—3–13 on Nuke and 11–13 on Anubis. At the end of the tournament, Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov’s team finished in 25th–32nd place.
