enkay J on the match against Team Spirit at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026: “We lacked patience in many rounds.”

FaZe Clan coach Niklas “enkay J” Krumhorn, in an interview at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026, outlined the team’s issues during their semifinal match against Team Spirit.
On FaZe Clan’s struggles against Team Spirit
We gave them complete control of the map, and then we were unable to retake areas, take the initiative, or be more active and aggressive. Unfortunately, in many rounds we lacked patience; we rotated too early, even though we still had time. Alas, our communication was also chaotic.
On the Lost Match
We took a lot of positives from this game. But, in the end, it’s still a little sad. However, if we discuss what happened before we head to bootcamp, there will likely be fewer positives. We’ll probably be thinking about why we did things one way rather than another in certain situations. But I’m sure we need to show more initiative. We need to be more active on the map instead of just holing up and waiting for the opponent. Yes, it’s disappointing right now, but, as you’ve already said, we can take comfort and pride in the fact that we managed to close the gap—we could have won.
On the ban against Team Spirit
That was more my decision than the team’s. In the last two tournaments, we played Mirage but didn’t feel comfortable on defense. We practiced against it right before BLAST Bounty Summer 2026, and the results were in our favor.
Earlier, Team Spirit defeated FaZe Clan in the semifinals of BLAST Bounty Summer 2026. The “Dragons” closed out the first map, Dust2, with a score of 13–6, but then lost 9–13 on Cache. The decisive map, Anubis, went to Boris “magixx” Vorobyov’s team—13–11.
