Insider and data miner Maxim “Gabe Follower” Poletaev reported that Valve, through its representatives in Russia, sent a pre-litigation demand to one of the largest skin-trading services to cease operations.
A week ago, I received confirmation and saw court documents indicating that Valve, through its representatives in Russia (Melling, Voitishkin & Partners) has sent a pre-litigation demand to one of the largest skin-trading services to cease operations and remove all materials, including software source code, social media pages, and websites.
This is the first such case involving cheat providers, especially given the sanctions imposed on Russia since 2022. This could set a precedent for Valve to begin taking legal action against unscrupulous players in CS2.
Earlier, Gabe Follower reported that players had begun gaining access to the new “Patrol” feature in Counter-Strike 2. Later, an insider revealed that the system allows users to view replays from all game modes, including “Deathmatch,” “Competitive,” “Casual,” and Premier.
