The Brazilian organization Keyd Stars has announced the closure of its Counter-Strike 2 division. The official announcement was made on the club’s page on social media platform X.
Keyd Stars first assembled a Counter-Strike team in 2015—its captain was Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo. Since then, the organization has gone through numerous Brazilian players before suspending operations in 2021. The club’s best result since returning to the discipline last year was a first-place finish at CCT Season 3 South American Series #9.
Over the past 1.5 years, we have invested in the development of the CS2 pro scene, closely following the game’s evolution. However, recent changes in the esports business model have forced us to rethink our plans. After analyzing the current situation, we have decided to suspend operations of our CS division and explore new opportunities.
We would like to thank the players, coaches, and staff who were part of Keyd Stars. Each of them made a significant contribution to the development of our brand. We wish everyone great success in the future.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva recently announced a complete ban on online betting within the country. Bookmaker websites will be officially blocked in four days, on October 5.
