moses: “I’m glad Cache is returning to the pro scene. I’m even ready to throw a party.”

Commentator Jason “moses” O’Toole shared his thoughts on Valve’s decision to replace Overpass with Cache on the In Queue podcast, and also discussed the addition of new maps to the Counter-Strike 2 map pool.
On Cache’s return to the pro scene
I’m glad Cache is returning to the pro scene. I’m even ready to throw a party to celebrate. Cache is still the same tactical map it was in CS:GO. I think now that the skybox is open, we’ll see a lot of feints, and control of the mid will become very important. Of course, Cache has some similarities to other maps, but that’s unavoidable. I think we’re in for some interesting matches.
About Overpass
You can lament Valve’s removal of Overpass all you want… It all depends on whether you like the map or not. As for me, I find it very boring. I’ve seen PARIVISION storm the B-site on the attack for 12 rounds in a row, and then do the exact same thing the next day. Overpass doesn’t require much preparation.
On adding new maps to the map pool
I’m not opposed to updating the map pool with new maps. However, there’s one caveat. For every map like Ancient, which is adopted with almost no changes, there are three Vertigos, where it takes two years to fix the balance. Counter-Strike is a challenging game for mapmakers. Our community has high expectations for the competitive aspect of maps.
Earlier, Team Vitality Academy sniper Ulysses “Katkame” Thibault spoke on the All About Counter-Strike podcast about how he trains in his free time, and also discussed his playstyle and the talent of Mathieu “ZywOo” Erbo.
