shalfey on playing for K27 at Stake Ranked Episode 3: “I get a lot of energy from the young players.”

K27 rifler Alexander “shalfey” Marenov spoke in an interview on Stake Ranked Episode 3 about his return to LAN tournaments, his preparations for the championship as a stand-in, and explained the role he tries to play on the team.
On returning to LAN
Honestly, it’s an amazing feeling, especially when you’re playing against really good teams. And even more so when you beat them. I get a lot of energy from the young players.
On preparing for the tournament and his role on the team
First of all, to be honest, I hadn’t played at all for a long time. Basically, I hardly played at all. I probably only started a few weeks ago, and now I’m training on a regular basis: I wake up, turn on the computer, and just start playing. I prepared very hard for this tournament. And now I’m also trying to motivate the team, because we have young players who need someone to push them forward. They have X5G7V—the captain—but now they’re hearing another voice, too. They’re gaining experience and building confidence, and I’m helping them with that as well. All in all, we’re a good team.
On K27’s chances in the tournament
When you pull off a comeback like that and win, it always gives the team a confidence boost. I’m counting on a bright future for us in this tournament. So watch out, guys, watch out.
Earlier, K27 defeated Wildcard 2-0 in maps in the first round of the lower bracket of Stake Ranked Episode 3. Today, Alexander “shalfey” Marenov’s team will face off against Phantom Esports for the right to stay in the tournament.
