Analyst and commentator Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill stated that former BLAST employees have reported payment delays by the tournament operator. He discussed this on the HLTV Confirmed podcast.
According to SPUNJ, some former BLAST employees whom he knows personally were laid off. In addition, the commentator heard from acquaintances about payment delays that have now reached what can be considered significant levels. SPUNJ also noted that BLAST’s situation could worsen if PGL continues to squeeze the company out of the market, causing the tournament operator to lose major teams and fail to deliver the same performance metrics to sponsors as before.
Further questions about payment delays arose following a post by analyst Sam “Tech Girl” Wright on X. She reached out to content creator Jonathan “byjono” Ferreira and asked if it had been more than six months since he last received payment.
Earlier, the organizers of BLAST Rivals Fall 2026 announced the full list of tournament participants. Among them are Team Spirit, Team Vitality, MOUZ, Team Falcons, and FURIA.
