BIG rifler Johannes “tabseN” Vodarc, in an interview at the 2026 CS2 Esports World Cup, summed up the team’s performance at the tournament, discussed the roster’s potential, and talked about preparations for upcoming events.
It’s easy to say that we could have closed out the map against a team like Team Spirit, but at the end of the day, they’re the best team in the world—or one of the best—and they made us fight for every round, so it was a tough battle. It could have gone either way, but in the end, Team Spirit managed to close out the map fairly convincingly. I think we put up a very good fight. Unfortunately, the outcome didn’t go our way. Overall, we played some solid Counter-Strike.
We just got back from the players’ break. We trained a lot, and in that sense, it paid off: we were able to hold our own against many teams. I’m glad we managed to win a few maps here. Winning the qualifiers was definitely a positive development. Now here, too, against top-tier teams.
We can take away a lot of positives from these matches. We played against Aurora Gaming, G2 Esports, and Team Spirit. We have nothing to be ashamed of—neither the scores nor the results. I think we did everything we could; we’ll review these matches and, hopefully, learn from them so we can get better. We still have a lot of tournaments ahead of us. This is just the start of the season, and I truly believe this team has a bright future ahead. We have great potential, and I hope we can make it work. If we can beat teams like these, BIG will be back in the top 10 in the future.
Earlier, BIG lost to Team Spirit 1–2 in the main stage of the 2026 Esports World Cup for Counter-Strike 2. As a result, Johannes “tabseN” Vodarce’s team finished the tournament in 17th–24th place and received $20,000 in prize money.
