Udknud assessed Team Liquid’s position in the VRS rankings following their elimination from BLAST Bounty Summer 2026
Analyst Jesper “Udknud” Larsen posted on his personal X page, where he discussed Team Liquid’s performance at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 and the team’s upcoming invitations to Tier 1 tournaments.
Team Liquid was eliminated from BLAST Bounty and, as a result, has fallen out of the invite zone for upcoming Tier 1 tournaments.
Had Liquid defeated Spirit, they would likely have secured an invitation to FISSURE PLAYGROUND 5 — CS. Now, however, the team will rank 32nd in Valve’s August rankings, which won’t earn them any significant invitations.
It’s worth noting that Liquid’s victories in the online stage of BLAST Bounty shouldn’t be underestimated. Thanks to those results, they earned an invite to IEM Beijing 2026. Had they finished in last place, the team risked missing the Major and securing a slot only in the IEM Krakow 2027 play-ins.
If Liquid fails to qualify for the Esports World Cup or PGL Bucharest, we won’t see its revamped roster again until November. In that case, the team will have to fight for a return to the Tier 1 scene alongside other teams that also failed to secure invites, such as HEROIC.
Earlier, Team Liquid lost to Team Spirit 0–2 in the quarterfinals of BLAST Bounty Summer 2026. The team finished the tournament in 5th–8th place and earned $81,250. The “Horses” will play their next match tomorrow, August 1, as part of the group stage of Stake Pulse Beat I.
