Aurora Gaming’s CS2 sniper, Özgür “woxic” Eker, in an interview at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026, shared his emotions following the team’s victory over NRG, discussed his role in making in-game decisions, and commented on changes to his personal form.
At one point toward the end of the second map, we felt like we might lose. Our opponents really started shooting with more confidence and outplaying us, but we managed to pull ourselves together and didn’t let our individual performance slip. I think we made some very good defensive decisions, such as being aggressive in the center of the map and executing proper rotations—all of which helped us close out the series 2-0. The match was close and intense; our opponents played very well, but we were calmer, more focused, and got the job done.
In 90 percent of cases, I’m the one who decides how we’ll proceed at the start of rounds when I have the AWP. For example, in one of the final rounds of the second map, I told kyxsan that we should take the pit and hold that position. My idea worked out well: we managed to disrupt their setup; I got two kills and could have gotten even more, but I was just a little unlucky. Sometimes it works the other way around: if one of my teammates gets intel on the opponents’ positions or an impending attack on a specific site, they can call me out in advance and tell me to take the right position.
I’ve really started to feel more confident in matches now. Before, I focused more on shooting and thought much less about the game as a whole. Now, things are more balanced in that regard. Over time, it’s become easier for me to openly talk about the things I want to do on the server. I’m trying to get back to the form that made people remember me.
