zonic: “My time with the Falcons hasn’t been easy, but despite the difficulties, I never stopped believing.”

Team Falcons coach Danny “zonic” Sorensen shared his thoughts in an interview at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 following the Falcons’ victory in the grand final, and also commented on Nikola “NiKo” Kovač at the tournament and his personal achievements as a coach.
On the victory at the IEM Cologne Major 2026
I’m very happy about the victory. It’s been a long time since we last lifted a trophy. To be honest, my time with the Falcons hasn’t been easy, but despite the difficulties, I never stopped believing. Winning the Major was one of my main goals with this team. I also wanted to help NiKo win this tournament. It turns out, mission accomplished.
About NiKo
NiKo is an amazing player. In my opinion, he deserved this victory more than anyone else. There have been plenty of moments in the past when luck could have gone his way. As for this tournament, NiKo performed exceptionally well in every match and was a key factor in our victory.
On personal achievements
Of course, this victory strengthens my legacy. However, I feel like I’m starting to get a little tired. I have a career as a player and a long stint as a coach behind me. My children are growing up. I don’t know if I’ll end my time with CS. My wife and I will talk about whether I should continue, and then I’ll make a decision.
