OG mentor and coach of the Malaysian team at the 2026 Esports Nations Cup, Adam “343” Erwan Shah bin Akhtar Hussein, spoke to OFFSTAGE about his expectations for the upcoming international tournament and shared his thoughts on the benefits of increasing the number of such events.
How did your collaboration with the team begin? Who initiated it?
Fernando Gamebred contacted me and told me I had been selected as the coach.
What are your expectations for the team’s performance?
I’ll be disappointed with anything lower than third place.
In your opinion, would Dota and esports benefit from more tournaments like this, or is the current number of events sufficient?
In my opinion, any esports discipline would benefit from more international competitions, but it’s not easy to fit them into the schedule.
The international Dota 2 tournament as part of the Esports Nations Cup 2026 will take place from November 2 to 8 in the capital of Saudi Arabia. Earlier, the coach of the Croatian national team, Damir “Mitch” Škaričić, answered similar questions for us.
