And once again, I’m ready to annoy you live during the BLAST matches! Today is the penultimate day, and there are only two series:
Yandex vs. Spirit (bo3)
When Spirit isn’t experimenting with their drafts, they are, without exaggeration, the strongest team in terms of team execution at this tournament. We’re keeping a close eye on the drafts for Yatoro. If they go with Viper/OD—that’s a three-map test—and the team will lose. So we’re expecting a back-and-forth series over three maps, and if the pick is more reliable, Spirit will sweep it.
PV vs. Aurora (bo3)
Their previous series was a rout, but I wouldn’t count on a clear victory for the favorites here. Skiter is carrying the team as best he can, and the rest of the squad is trying to keep up. The main thing here is that PV is definitely not at their best; their gameplay is super messy, and Noone tilts even after wins. I’m betting on the Aurora map; my pre-match prediction is 2-1 <...>
The Team Spirit vs. Team Yandex match is currently underway. On the first map, the “Dragons” picked Outworld Destroyer for Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk; the Yandex players started the map with eight unanswered kills, after which Spirit began to close the gap in the score. The winner of this series will advance to the grand final, while the loser will continue playing in the lower bracket. PARIVISION and Aurora Gaming will face off in a single-elimination match.
The BLAST SLAM VIII playoffs are taking place from October 8 to 11, with a total prize pool of $750,000. So far, the four finalists have been determined, with $270,000 awaiting the winner. The defending champion is Team Yandex.
