Astini spoke about the possibility of ending his career
Former Team Nemesis coach Filipe “Astini” Astini Ribeiro took to his personal X page to reflect on the tournament season, discuss his plans for the future, and hint at a possible retirement.
With the conclusion of the 2026 Games of the Future, my tournament season is also coming to an end. I won’t be attending The International 2026, so now I need to focus on creating macro-game videos for Dotaflix and uploading some of them to an English-language YouTube channel. I think they’ll be helpful for Tier 2 teams, and maybe even Tier 1 teams.
Even after spending some time away from the competitive scene, I believe my understanding of the meta is simply insane. We’ll see how the post-TI shuffle plays out. If there’s a chance to work with strong players, I’ll come back; if not, I’ll stay retired. I’m not cut out to fight for the bottom spots; I’m done with thoughts of “pulling off a miracle at a tournament.” For the next tournament—either I’m going in aiming for at least a top-3 finish, or I’ll stay retired.
Midas Club, where Filipe “Astini” Astini Ribeiro served as a coach, failed to advance past the group stage of the 2026 Dota 2 Games of the Future, losing twice and finishing in 13th–16th place. The team earned $15,000.
