Team Yandex players commented on their victory over Team Spirit in the BLAST SLAM VIII Grand Final on their personal Telegram channels.
Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov highlighted the team’s successful drafts and shared his excitement about winning their second trophy in a row:
Hi everyone! We beat Team Spirit 3-1. They were good matches. I think we outplayed them in the draft in some games and in the actual gameplay in others. We played well. The draft didn’t go quite right in the first game, but after that, it was more or less playable. We’ve won our second tournament in a row. I’m really tired, but I’m very happy. Now it’s time to rest up and stream. That’s it. Yeah. Bye, everyone!
Ilya “CHIRA_JUNIOR” Chirtsov admitted that the final against Team Spirit wasn’t easy, and also thanked the fans for their support:
Hi, everyone! We beat Spirit. It feels great to beat a three-time TI champion. What can I say—it’s a rush. The games weren’t exactly easy—we had a few moments where we were outplayed—but what’s done is done. We won. It feels great. Thanks to everyone for the support. I really enjoy reading and seeing all your comments.
Ammar “ATF” al-Assaf shared his thoughts on the victory and compared his current team to Team Falcons:
Hey, how’s it going? Good, I guess. There’s no need to say anything else, but I’m very happy and grateful for BLAST SLAM VIII. As always, it was a breeze. First place at both PGL and BLAST—these are two tournaments I wanted to win alongside my teammates on Team Falcons, but Team Yandex is just better. With lots of love to everyone I’ve played with in the past and everyone I’m with now.
Yeah, 3-1. They gave me Doom—my best hero. I have a lot of best heroes; what can you do? They made me play my old signature Monkey King [—Ed.]. And yes, huge respect to Spirit—they played well. But my job on Team Yandex is to diff on the offlane. That’s what I need to keep doing so we can win. That’s the news.
ATF also commented on the victory on social media platform X:
In just one month, we managed to win two titles that Team Falcons had failed to win many times before. I’m incredibly grateful and happy! There’s only one tournament left, and we plan to win that title as well. The difference in our offlane play made all the difference.
Team Yandex defeated Team Spirit 3-1 in the BLAST SLAM VIII grand final. For the “Geese,” this is their second consecutive trophy; previously, the team became champions of PGL Wallachia Season 9, sweeping Natus Vincere in the final.
