ATF: “My team plays like crap online; they’re just lazier.”
Team Yandex offlaner Ammar “ATF” al-Assaf spoke in an interview at BLAST SLAM VIII about the team’s mindset ahead of their playoff match against Team Spirit, and also explained why the team lost to the “Dragons” in the group stage.
On preparing for Team Spirit
I feel good. My team woke up this morning to a thunderstorm, from what I heard, but I kept sleeping. Because that’s the most important thing in my life—to keep sleeping. They’ll have to beat the new Team Yandex—we weren’t ready during the first month. So this should be interesting.
On the loss to Team Spirit
My team plays like crap online; they’re just lazier. And I think that in this series on both maps, all five of our heroes were long-range players or something like that. We just wanted to *** [beat] them quickly, but it backfired.
After the interview, Team Yandex defeated Team Spirit twice—in the upper bracket final and then in the grand final of BLAST SLAM VIII.
