ATF on his time with Team Falcons: “We knew it was better to play as the Light, but I chose the Dark side just for fun.”
Team Yandex offlaner Ammar “ATF” al-Assaf talked in a team vlog about his time with Team Falcons, when opponents began copying his team’s suboptimal choice.
There was a period with the Falcons when we were winning a lot, and I kept picking Darkness. We knew it was better to play as Light, but I picked Darkness just for fun. We were crushing everyone; we didn’t care. At some point, they started copying us—they didn’t even realize it.
According to Dotabuff, Team Falcons played a total of 525 games as the Forces of Darkness, compared to 368 as the Forces of Light. Their win rate ranged from 63% to 66%. At The International 2026, the team preferred Radiant in most cases. Throughout its history in Dota 2, Yandex has played 30 more games as Dire than as the opposing side.
