Average concurrent players in Dota 2 increased by 17.07% in July

According to July’s results, the average concurrent player count in Dota 2 rose by nearly 80,000, while the peak concurrent player count fell by 2,620. The statistics were compiled by Steam Charts.
On average, there were 545,500 players in Dota 2 this month, which is 17.07% more than in June, while the peak concurrent player count was 860,019, down from the previous peak of 862,639.
The main reasons for the growth were the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026, which took place in Paris from July 7 to 19, and the continuation of the in-game event “Dark Carnival.” — on July 24, the third chapter was released, featuring a new mini-game, two commentary sets with Ringmaster, and cosmetic items for Magnus.
Previously, Valve released the “Summer Cleanup” update for Dota 2: MMR was recalculated for “Titan”-ranked players, Random Draft was removed from ranked modes, and The International 2026 team support packs and talents were added to the game.
