Copy on Rune Eaters at the 2026 Esports World Cup in Dota 2: “Now we have extra motivation to prove ourselves.”
Rune Eaters mid laner Philipp “Copy” Bühler spoke in an interview ahead of the match against PARIVISION at the Esports World Cup 2026 about the team’s form and commented on the community’s expectations for their performance.
On his feelings about the victory over Aurora Gaming in the EWC 2026 survival stage
Obviously, it’s really great, but we didn’t come here expecting to lose, so it wasn’t that unusual.
On whether the team is playing better with every match
I think that’s true. Not literally every game, but we learn a lot from each one. Our macro play has gotten much better; it now feels like our strength. In the match against Aurora, we lost the lanes but managed to turn the game around. So I think we have a good understanding of the mid-game.
On the team achieving unexpected results
That’s what you always want to show when you play Dota 2: you want to prove that you’re playing better. Right now we have extra motivation to prove ourselves because none of us have been picked up by a major organization, but playing like this is fine too—it’s actually pretty fun to be the underdog.
Earlier, Philipp “Copy” Bühler discussed the team’s advancement from the group stage at the 2026 Esports World Cup, commented on the team’s improvements throughout the tournament, and highlighted the importance of map control, vision, portals, and key objectives.
