Dota 2 Update from June 23: Axe Removed from Matchmaking
On the night of June 23, Valve released several updates for Dota 2, removing the ability to select Axe in all game modes except Captain's Mode and improving localization.
List of Changes
- Axe has been replaced with a “missing” poster in all game modes except Captain's Mode;
- The script responsible for items has been updated;
- Localization has been improved;
- Server and client files were affected.
The update size was 82.4 MB.
Previously, the developers added a special “Bad Feeling” buff for Axe related to Ringmaster. The last major in-game event took place on November 11, 2025, when Valve released the Monster Hunter x Dota collaboration featuring new Immortal-quality items.
