Streamers Danil “gpk” Skutin, Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov, and Timur “Ahilles” Kulmukhambetov discussed advice for Vitaly “Save-” Melnik, the future of Dota 2, and early “GG” calls in professional matches during a live stream.
dyrachyo: Danok, does Vitalik ever ask you for advice?
gpk: Basically, throughout the season, I’ve been showing him how mid laners make mistakes.
dyrachyo: Do you think he took all that information to heart?
gpk: Yeah, I just told him what kind of *** [nonsense] people do when we were watching games. I [shared] my opinion with him.
gpk: I still have four years left…
dyrachyo: But will Dota still be around in 4 years? Vovan [No[o]ne-] just turned 29.
gpk: I think Dota will still be around for another 2–3 years.
dyrachyo: We can take a break for now, then come back for the scraps. But I don’t know, Danyok, if we’ll actually win…
Ahilles: Dota will turn into a never-ending Streamers Battle.
dyrachyo: And Danyok will be the absolute king of it.
gpk: It varies. <…> I probably prioritized typing “GG” early on. <…>
Ahilles: In PARIVISION, I noticed that Satanic can type “GG” really early if things are looking hopeless—he might type it as early as the 15th minute.
dyrachyo: I think it depends on how a person understands Dota. Say you’re playing a match that’s impossible to win—1%. Yeah, there’s a chance, but some players think, why sit there for 50 minutes and be a punching bag? <…> Why wait for your throne to fall and stress yourself out? Just end it and move on. <…> I think these “GG” calls are a personal thing. Whether it’s about players or drafts—the circumstances vary.
Also during this stream, dyrachyo and gpk commented on the play of PARIVISION support Edgar “9Class” Naltakyan, while Ahilles called Skutin one of the best mid laners of recent years.
