“Can you talk about the difference in preparation for The International in Denmark, Hamburg, and now?” Well, we didn’t prepare for the last International in Hamburg because Den was in the hospital, and we couldn’t prepare for it. We played with Mirele, but it was a completely different situation: different heroes, everything was different. We did have some preparation, but in reality, you could say we didn’t really prepare. For Hamburg, we prepared as usual—just a lot of KV, a lot of practice runs. Discussion, practice runs, discussion, practice runs, discussion, practice runs—at a regular boot camp, everything was business as usual.

At this Int, overall, there was also a bootcamp. The bootcamp was unusual; we devoted some time not only to the game, so to speak, but also to other things. “Do you have a new bootcamp?” No, no—it’s a one-time event. A one-time boot camp right before The International. The location really was different. We wanted to step out of our comfort zone right before this year’s The International, so we decided to hold the boot camp somewhere other than our usual spot.
