The fact that everyone is completely *** [couldn’t care less] about this Wallachia, about this tournament in general—that’s absolutely unique. I’m watching—it’s evening, and there are some more or less decent teams playing—and the total online viewership on the streams is like 30,000 people. I mean, if sasavot goes live just playing Minecraft, 50,000 people will be watching him. I mean, it’s as dead as it gets, because after the highly hyped The International, we’ve got this Wallachia thing where half the teams are complete unknowns, and the other half are fielding substitute players—everyone just *** [couldn’t care less] about this tournament, and that’s totally understandable. People are already oversaturated with this Dota 2 stuff—endless matches on the same patch, no less, with the same teams over and over. And here, it’s not just the same teams—it’s the exact same ones—plus substitutes, and on top of that, some random bunch of nobodies has rolled in.

I think this is a normal situation. I mean, the first tournament after The International usually doesn’t interest anyone. Unless it were a tournament played on a brand-new patch—some major, big event—or a tournament where a team like Team Spirit with a new roster, or someone else, showed up. Then there would at least be a little bit of hype around it.
